The African National Congress in the Northern Cape has completed the last phase of the its list process leading up to the Provincial List Conference to take place on Saturday 08 December 2018 at the Upington TVET College in the ZFM region. The last phase included the screening of candidates that were nominated by branches during the Branch General Meetings. In accordance with the list guidelines the Provincial List Committee is to screen the candidates as according to these criteria;
a) The number of nominations received (at least 10 branches)
b) Sector they represent
c) CV and skills or experience they will bring
d) Qualifications in terms of electoral legislation (SA citizenship, no criminal record, no unrehabilitated insolvency, no court order of unsound mind) AND
e) Any factor that will bring the ANC into disrepute.
The names of these candidates will be placed on the ballot which is prepared by Independent Elections facilitators of Southern Africa ( IEFSA)and will contain only the names of those candidates that have received ten or more nominations and will be in alphabetical order.
PRE-REGISTRATIONS
Pre-registrations have commenced today,04 December 2018 in the Pixley Ka seme Region, two teams from the provincial office have been sent out to the different regions to do the pre-registration of the delegates who will be attending the Provincial list conference. The delegates will be pre registered and will receive their accreditation tags on Friday.
The Provincial List committee is confident that the process that they undertook was thoroughly done and ensured that the ANC will field the best candidates to the Provincial Legislature and the National Assembly.
